Invite from Steam (or share a lobby code from the pause menu), make sure everyone runs the same game version, and drop in at any campfire. There is no matchmaking for the story — co-op is friends-first by design; the version-mismatch connection error is the most common issue and is fixed by updating.

• Host: pause menu → Co-op → Create lobby. Friends join via Steam invite or lobby code.
• Version mismatch: everyone verifies their game is updated before connecting.
• Disconnects: the world persists on the host — rejoining resumes wherever the host is.
• Bosses: both fights support co-op; see each boss page for group-specific tactics.

• Ashen Warden: phantoms spawn per player. Assign one teammate to phantom duty; keep the boss on your best-armored player.
• Magma Tyrant: three players fit per flood platform, four is a shove-fight. Station one player on emergency flask duty.
• Patience bar (Warden) drains slower with more players — group aggression scales up safely.
